This is a really good recipe for those going through chemo or other cancer treatments to deal with a low appetite & it’s a great anti nausea drink.
We’ve all grown up drinking flat gingerale when we’ve had the flu or to settle our bellies. Here’s a great homemade recipe – store bought gingerales are full of sugar, high fructose corn syrup & barely a trace of any real ginger.
This is easy, can be stored in the fridge for weeks, you can control how zingy & sweet you want it- and it’s real healing food people!
Pure Ginger Syrup for Homemade Gingerale
This recipe reduces to about one third.
10 cups distilled water
4 cups unpeeled fresh ginger
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup organic honey
Bring all ingredients to a boil, reduce to a simmer for about 1 hour. Let it cool, strain all ingredients.
In a tall glass mix about 4 tablespoons of Gingerale Syrup with carbonated water.
Then get creative! If you want it sweeter, add honey or agave sugar, more zesty- add more Syrup. For more of a soothing Gingerale add some fresh mint leaves & some more lemon. I like to freeze some raspberries or grapes & add them as cool frozen ice cubes for flavour.
Be Well! Love, Tamara ❤👩🏻🍳🇨🇦🍹
