Double Pressed Juices are a major part of Peter’s Diet as he continues his battle against Stage 4 Melanoma & was one of the first things I incorporated into his nutrition.
Why? Aside from obviously being a healthy option, juicing offers a quick delivery of healing nutrition that the body can absorb easily & more importantly does not have to expend a lot of energy to digest.
The same goes for broths- they are so vital, so full of nourishment – great for comfort, easy to digest especially when a person doesn’t have a huge appetite but still needs to feed & heal the body.
I have a great recipe for a base broth – that is packed with nutrients- sip it as a tea or used as a building block for other healthy soups that heal, boost immunity, increase energy & detox.
My tip- make a large batch, freeze smaller amounts to have at hand. If you see a lot of soup posts coming soon- you’ll know what’s at the base of each healthy & unique flavourful recipe!
Pass this along if you think it may help someone you know.

Nourishing Healing Broth Recipe
This recipe couldn’t be easier & you can do so many things with it- it’s a base for a great Chicken Soup, a Coconut Lime Broth, Chowder- Vegetarian or Seafood. You can sip it as a healing tea, broths are unsung healing heroes!
To make this Broth you need a large pot, some key ingredients- then walk away. Let time do its thing & wait for your house to smell like magic!
In a large pot- combine the following (washed but unpeeled- always Organic if possible)
6 carrots, 2 onions, 1 leek- cut into thirds, 1 bunch celery- cut into thirds (leaves & all), 4 red potatoes- quartered, 2 sweet potatoes- quartered, 1 whole head of garlic- cut in half, 1 big bunch Parsley, 1 large strip of nori (seaweed, dried- you can find these sheets in the Asian section of your grocery store), a handful of bay leaves- fresh is best but dried is good too, a handful of whole peppercorns, a handful of good sea salt (you can add more as the broth simmers – please don’t use cheap table salt- that stuff is really crappy).
Cover all the veg with distilled water (I know it sounds over the top, but the purer the water, the better- you won’t be simmering away chemicals that may be in your tap water).
Bring to a boil, then lower the heat & simmer away for 3 hours at least. Add more water to cover as it reduces down.
Strain (after it cools- its going to be hot!).
Freeze batches in ziploc bags for later use! Watch for more soup recipes using this base Broth I’ll posting soon. ❤
