Not all Smoothies are created equal.
For those who are on a Ketogenic, Paleo Diet, those who are working out & need extra Protein in your life, or just for an Energy Boosting start to your day, this is a great Protein Smoothie Recipe!
I came up with this Recipe when I switched Peter to a high Protein Diet to help him put on weight & rebuild muscle after his cancer treatment. To make this Vegan, substitute Dairy with Soy Or Almond Milk Products & eggs for Vegan Protein Powder.
FACT- protein in egg whites are absorbed more quickly by the body than whole eggs- plus when I make this Smoothie for Peter I feel like I’m making it for Rocky Balboa in training!
Super Purple Protein Smoothie
Add the following to a blender (makes a generous portion)
1/2 cup each blackberries & blueberries (these dark fruits are Superfoods & AntiOxidents)
2 heaping tablespoons Organic Greek Yogurt (I like Vanilla)
1 generous tablespoon Organic Nut Butter & 1 teaspoon Avocado Seed Powder, both Recipes are posted here on my website.
Add a good splash of lemon juice (this helps detox the body & helps make the body’s system more alkaline).
Add 1 whole raw egg & 2 egg whites (get really good organic eggs- if you don’t like the idea of using raw eggs, you can find Egg White Protein Powder in most Health Food Stores)
1/2 cup Almond or Cashew Milk & 3-4 ice cubes & blend until smooth.
Get your Smoothie on!
